Controlant Go

In this section:

Controlant Go is a pre-configured validated solution designed to simplify shipment monitoring for logistics teams. It does not require system integration and is suitable for replacing passive devices with live data capabilities. It provides real-time visibility into shipment conditions, immediate alerts for excursions, and automatic post-shipment reporting.

To order Controlant Go devices, for each type of shipment (temperature range) you need to fill out a form supplying the following information, and send via email to orders@controlant.com.

Name of customer to put on invoice.

Number of your purchase order.

Leave blank if you do not want to include a purchase order number.

Number of devices you wish do order.

Temperature range

Temperature range of devices.

Shipment duration

Duration of shipments, in number of days.

Leave blank if you do not want to set a duration.

Default duration is 30 days.

Notification email for excursions

Email address to which to send notifications in case of excursions.

Leave blank if you do not want to receive excursion notifications.

Shipping address

Address to which to send the devices.

Shipping contact

Contact who will receive the devices.

Special shipping instructions

Special shipping instructions you want to include.

Leave blank if you do not want to include special shipping instructions.



Below you will find the steps to take when adding a Controlant Go device to a shipment.

  1. Retrieve the Controlant Go devices from the box or shelf.

  2. Check the label on top of the device to verify the following:

    1. Pre-configured temperature range matches the temperature range of the shipment you are adding device to.

    2. Expiry date is not during expected shipment duration.

  3. Check display and verify that the shipment status of the device is Paired.

    Paired Saga device

    Note

    If the status is Shipping, device has already been activated, and temperature monitoring has started. Set the device aside and contact Controlant.

  4. To ensure battery level is sufficient for the duration of the shipment, check battery level of the device.

    Tip

    The minimum battery level for a 30-day shipment is 80%.

    Note

    If battery level is below the desired threshold, do one of the following:

    • select a different device.

    • connect the device's USB cable to a USB port until fully charged. For more information, see Charging the device.

  5. Place device with goods and press and hold the start button controlant saga logger start buttonfor 5-8 seconds on the device to start the shipment.

    The shipment LED controlant saga device shipment led lights up when the device registers the button press as valid and remains on for 3 seconds. The lit-up LED light means that you can release the button.

    Shipment status on device display changes to Shipping.

    Note

    The alarm functionality is inactive for 30 minutes after the button press - the defined ignore period. Excursions occurring within this time frame will not be included in the report.

    Your shipment is ready to go!

Adding a Controlant Go device to a shipment (PDF)

Below you will find the steps to take when receiving a shipment with a Controlant Go device.

  1. Retrieve the Controlant Go devices from the shipment and press and hold the stop button black square in red fill circlefor 5-8 seconds on the device to stop the shipment.

    The shipment LED controlant saga device shipment led lights up when the device registers the button press as valid and remains on for 3 seconds. The lit-up LED light means that you can release the button.

    Shipment status on device display changes to Stopping and then to Stopped.

    Note

    The alarm functionality is inactive for 30 minutes before the button press - the defined ignore period. Excursions occurring within this time frame will not be included in the report.

  2. To check whether there has been an alarm, on device display, verify there is no alarm icon Alarm - indicates device has had an excursion or alarm light Alarm LED.

    Note

    If the display has an alarm icon Alarm - indicates device has had an excursion or alarm light Alarm LED, refer to your SOP and proceed accordingly.

  3. To check battery level is sufficient, on device display, verify device has >10% battery level, and is not in Low Power Mode.

    Note

    If device in Low Power Mode, charge the device by plugging it into a USB charging adapter or computer USB port until it reaches a minimum 15% battery level. For more information about charging, see Charging the device.

  4. To check cloud connection status, on device display, verify that it shows the Device is connected Cloud connection good icon on a Saga devicesymbol.

    Note

    If device shows the Device failed to connect icon Device failed to connect, try moving the device to an area with a stronger cellular reception and repeat step 1 - stop the shipment.

    If the device cannot connect to the Controlant Cloud Platform, you need to do a manual upload at upload.controlant.com. For more information, see How to perform manual data upload on a Saga device.

  5. Check the label on top of the device to verify the calibration date is not past.

  6. You are now ready to retrieve the Quality Report for the shipment. See Retrieving the quality report for a Controlant Go shipment.

Below you will find the steps you need to to take to retrieve the Quality Report for a shipment with a Controlant Go device.

Note

Ensure you have stopped the shipment, following the steps in Receiving a shipment with a Controlant Go device.

  1. Using the label on top of the device, do one of the following:

    1. Scan the QR code on the label.

    2. In a browser, access the URL printed on the label.

    3. In a browser, do the following:

      1. Open go.share.controlant.com.

      2. In the Logger ID box, type the Device ID.

      3. Click Search.

    The Share Portal appears, showing the status of the shipment the device was in.

    Important

    If shipment status is Undecided, shipment quality cannot be determined and a manual inspection is required.

    Note

    If shipment status is Report not yet available - wait a few minutes and try again to retrieve the Quality Report.

    Tip

    If you want to see the real-time status of the shipment, click Click to open shipment in Share Shipment.

    In a new browser tab, the shipment opens in Share Shipment. For more information about Share Shipment, see Share Shipment.

  2. If the shipment status is Released, click Share Portal - click to download quality report.

    The Quality Report is downloaded, in pdf format. You may be asked to select the folder to save the file in.

  1. Using the label on top of the device, do one of the following:

    2. In a browser, access the URL printed on the label.

    3. In a browser, do the following:

      1. Open go.share.controlant.com.

      2. In the Logger ID box, type the Device ID.

      3. Click Search.

    The Share Portal appears, showing the status of the shipment the device was in.

  2. Click Click to open shipment in Share Shipment.

    In a new browser tab, the shipment opens in Share Shipment.
